Tic-Tac-Toe Review
Here are two ideas for reviewing songs that have worked for me in the past:For Junior, I buy an 11 x 17 picture from the Distribution Center and then cut it into nine puzzle pieces. (A picture normally costs around fifty cents). On the back of each puzzle piece, I write the name of a song. The children put the puzzle together as we review each song. For Senior, I draw tic-tac-toe squares on a whiteboard. Using removable tape, I place a piece of paper in each square which has a phrase from a song. The first team selects a square and tries to guess what phrase the song is from. I accept either the title or the first line of the song. If they can't guess it within thirty seconds, the second team gets a chance. If they don't know it, then the first team gets to hear that phrase played on the piano. If they don't get it, then the second team gets a try. The first team to get the correct answer gets to place and x or and o on the board. (I usually select phrases from versus other than the first verse.)
